Disclosure
We make no money when you buy something. Here is exactly what that means. Last updated October 26, 2026.
What the site does not have
- No advertising. No display ads, no ad networks, no native ads made to look like articles.
- No affiliate links. When we link to a store or a product, we earn nothing if you click it or buy.
- No sponsored content. Nobody pays us to write about them, and no company sees a page before it runs.
- No paid placements. No company can pay to appear in a list, a playbook or a wardrobe guide.
- No free products. We do not accept goods, trips or services from companies we might write about.
Why
This site exists to help people notice when one purchase is pulling the next one along. Earning a commission on that next purchase would turn our advice against our readers, even if we never meant it to. So we keep the money out.
When we mention brands
Some pages name brands or products as examples, because spending happens in real shops. We choose those examples ourselves, for what they show about a habit or a tactic, not as recommendations to buy.
If this ever changes
If we ever take advertising, affiliate commission or any other money tied to products, we will:
- update this page first, with the date of the change;
- label every affected page or link clearly, at the point where it appears, not only in a footer;
- keep paid material out of the explainers, the effects library and the essay;
- never let a payment change what a page recommends.
